Ethical Sourcing & CITES Policy

πΏ Ethical Sourcing & CITES Compliance Policy
WildCurio enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy against the illegal wildlife trade, poaching, and unauthorized cross-border shipping of protected species.
1. CITES Permit Compliance
Any flora or fauna listed under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) Appendix I or II must meet all regulatory guidelines:
- Sellers must possess valid, verified commercial export permits issued by the agricultural or environmental ministry of the origin country.
- CITES permits must be uploaded and verified by the platform administration before listing approval.
- Illegal wild-harvesting of protected species is strictly prohibited. All listings must be legally captive-bred or micro-propagated in laboratory-sterile environments.
2. Plant Export Compliance (Phytosanitary & Tissue Culture)
To safeguard global biosecurity, cross-border plant shipments must meet strict agricultural standards:
- Phytosanitary Certificates: Shipped live plants must include official agricultural health certifications clearing them of soil-borne pests and diseases.
- Tissue Culture Exemption: We encourage soil-free laboratory-sterile tissue cultures in organic agar as they bypass lengthy soil quarantines and accelerate customs clearance.
3. Platform Policing and Penalties
We run automated keyword filters and audit listings regularly. Any seller found violating biosecurity, conservation, or CITES laws will face:
- Immediate permanent deletion of their store.
- Freezing of all escrowed funds pending law enforcement investigation.
- Direct cooperation with international wildlife enforcement agencies and customs authorities.
